Winter, the season for a ski holiday in the Trentino region, but not only!

People who love mountains will not be able to resist the temptation of a week on the Trentino slopes, in San Martino di Castrozza, which are some of the most beautiful in the Dolomites.

In addition to the pleasure of skiing in Trentino, we also have many other ideas and there are loads of things to do and see, such as shoe snowing excursions.

Snowshoes are popular because they’re easy use and they take you into the most charming places nature has to offer on paths that would otherwise remain unexplored. They will allow you to discover hidden thrills in the enchanted universe that is the winter mountain environment.

Imagine the traces you will leave on the immaculate snow carpet – delicate, gentle: the imprint of the shoes, the holes made by the poles. You’ll walk and float, without sinking.

Our winter excursions

Three weekly excursions and a few recommended routes:

Tuesday: half-day trip to the Orti Forestali
Wednesday: full-day trip to the Rosetta Plateau
Thursday: romantic trip from 4.30pm to 7.30pm to admire the sunset over the San Martino Pala Mountains

Alpine skiing

The beauty of skiing in a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the San Martino di Castrozza and Passo Rolle Ski Area is located in the heart of Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Nature Park and belongs to Dolomiti Superski.

Night skiing

The magic of the San Martino Pala mountains continues even after sunset on Colverde slope … a lovely skiing experience below a starry sky!

Snowboarding

The sport par excellence for all board lovers. After a snowfall, when fresh snow covers the slopes, it is the perfect moment to “surf” with your snowboard on the slopes of San Martino di Castrozza and Passo Rolle!

Nordic skiing (cross-country skiing)

You will find the ski centre within Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Nature Park with 30 km of tracks. Skiers using the classic technique, as well as skating regularly beat the slopes.

Ski mountaineering

By practicing ski mountaineering within the wonderful setting of the San Martino di Castrozza Pala Mountains in the Dolomites you will chance upon open and especially stunning spaces.

Freeriding

In the realm of powdery, fresh snow, when the ski slopes are no longer enough, freeride lovers can explore a completely new world, nestled between forests and incredible open spaces, in the wonderful setting of the Dolomites!

Troika rides

Romantic rides on a troika, a large wooden sleigh pulled by large, Norian horses. You will meander through quiet, snow covered, streets that lead into the forests of San Martino di Castrozza Nature Park.

"We are just back from one of the most amazing winter resorts in the Dolomites, UNESCO world heritage: San Martino di Castrozza. This was our second time there and I decided to choose a different hotel, as the one we had been to a couple of years ago did not make an offer that could meet our expectations. Our choice went to Hotel Letizia, recommended by some fellow hikers for the warm welcome and excellent food. From the very first contact, I realized my choice was the good one: kind approach, quick reply and even a room upgrade given lower season. This was only the beginning: during our stay with some friends and their children the staff was always flawless, patient and extremely kind having quick answers to all our requests. The hotel is spotless: imagine that the room maids would clean up the room while the guests are having breakfast, so everything is nice and tidy even before you leave the hotel in the morning! The communal areas like kid’s area, ski closets, lobby and bar are equally nice and clean. A small spa can offer a moment of peace and relax. But what stroke us more all over our week was the restaurant: breakfast offer a great choice of options with even a honey bar and a section of superfoods for those who cannot eat the fantastic cakes available to all. A real chef concocts fine meals every day and you can make your choice among five different options per course and an extensive desserts’ menu. An asterisk indicates regional dishes and a perfect wine list allows you to have the perfect meal in a friendly atmosphere, sometimes made more romantic by candle lit dinners. I strongly recommend Hotel Letizia especially if you care about what you eat and you are travelling with children "
