Parco Naturale di Paneveggio

The pleasure of walks and excursions amongst nature

In perfect harmony

You will find a perfect harmony between man and nature within Paneveggio Nature Park, between the Alpine pasturage and wood hauling activities, always in keeping with tourism activity.

So many colours, so many thrills

Without a doubt, the deep green of the century-old forests is the colour that most characterises this park, next to which you find the most vibrant of meadows, as well as the pink hue of the San Martino Pala Mountains during Enrosadira – Alpenglow – that dark pink on the Lagorai rocks and even the blue of the lakes and the tawny colour of the coats of deer.

Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park has been protecting and enhancing the most authentic spaces in San Martino di Castrozza and the surrounding area since 1967.

  • The San Martino Pala Mountain Range
  • Paneveggio Forest
  • Part of the Lagorai Range
  • A portion of the Lusia-Bocche Range
In fact, deer are the symbol for the entire park. You can admire them in the wildlife area of the Paneveggio Visitors Centre. It owes part of its fame to the Red Fir, which is especially good for creating string instruments, such as lutes, thanks to its resonance properties.
True hospitality
"We are returning here year after year ever since we discovered this hotel by accident. It is in a mountain village surrounded by spectacular scenery. This family run hotel captured our hearts from our very first visit and we can’t stop returning. The restaurant has charming atmosphere, an excellent and varied menu to choose and the staff are most obliging and warm. The rooms are elelgant in the mountain style and very clean. The hotel has its own car park which is free. We normally go in summer for mountain walking. This is in a mountain village situated at a higher level than the tallest mountain in the U.K. Our experience is that one usually need to book well in advance. I hope not too many people follow my advice in case we can’t find a room for ourselves "
